CLT20 making a return??

THIS IS NOT A DRILL. THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), The English Cricket Bord (ECB) and Cricket Australia (CA) are in talks to revive the infamous Champions League T20 (As reported by ESPNCricinfo).

The CLT20 was played between 2008 and 2014. It was scrapped in July 2015 due to low TV Viewership. It featured a Round-Robin + Knockout Format, with 12 Teams participating in the Group Stage. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are the most successful Franchises in the Competition's short history, with 2 Titles Each, and CSK winning the last one (2014).

With more T20 franchise Teams exisiting, it makes sense for a return of a UEFA Champions League Style Competition, but this is not based on Club Teams, but Franchise Teams where Players play for 2 Different 'Franchise Families'.

For Example, New Zealand Fast Bowler Trent Boult played for Mumbai Indians' Franchises (MI New York and MI Emirates) in 2023-24 but plays for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. If MI New York had to face Rajasthan Royals in the CLT20, Boult may not play at all, due to a Conflict of Interest, essentially voiding the reason why fans come to the stadium, to watch him play.

This was, and will be a recurring theme throughout teams playing in the CLT20, with a player representing different franchises from different T20 Competitions (partly the reason why the CLT20 was sacked off).

Would you like to see a potential return of this T20 Competition? What rule changes would you want to see? Comment Below.
